I'm Lisa Horner, wife, mother, grandmother and cat mum too.

 

I've written two local history books, and have written articles connected to local history. Before writing my own books, I was a contributing researcher for the late Frances Clamp's book,  Basildon, Our Heritage and the Basildon Heritage Trail. I was very fortunate to be employed as a researcher by the late Vin Harrop, who was a great inspiration and shared his joy of our local history, art was also his passion, another thing we had in common.

On my journey as a writer, I have had the great fortune to meet Sylvia Kent, who is wonderful; she always encourages writers, and through her, I have been on Phoenix FM for interviews. 

​

I have been on other radio stations and have done talks about local history, which was something I never imagined I would do. I have also been a member of a writing group which can be a very encouraging experience.
